Bedtime routine

Bath time

Any relaxing bedtime starts with a bath – try adding a splash of Earth Friendly Baby’s lavender bubble bath, not only will they love the bubbles, but the scent will help them relax and get in the mood for bedtime. Especially when they’re tiny, babies don’t need much washing, so a simple bar of Neal’s Yard baby soap for their chin and bottom should be all you need.

Bathtime wouldn’t be the same without some toys. Oli & Carol have a lovely range made from natural rubber. Add an Elou cork frog and you’re good to go!

Nightwear

Once you’re dried, there’s nothing better for a good night’s sleep than a Bundlee sleepsuit. Made in Oeko-Tex cotton, so it’s free from any toxins - so important when it’s close to your little one’s skin all night! What’s more, the front and back are zip and button free - meaning even fewer irritants to keep baby up!

A sleeping bag is perfect for little ones, keeping them warm but avoiding any of the risks that blankets carry. We love the organic cotton and bamboo ones Baby Mori do.

Getting to sleep

Now baby’s wrapped up and ready, then the perfect activity to calm them before bed is reading a book. Goodnight Moon is a classic bedtime story for newborns, and Hairy McClary is hard to beat.

After a night time feed and cuddle, it’s a great idea to start putting them to bed with a comforter. Not only will it be something for baby to cuddle, but once they’re used to going to bed with it, you can use it as a tool to help them settle. Fabelab do some great organic cotton ones, and wee gallery’s monochrome designs not only help the environment with their planet friendly materials, but are great for baby’s development too!

Now, that’s bedtime dealt with. Where’s the wine?!
